Free Cuban sandwiches for everyone!
That might have been the first thing on your mind, if you're from Miami and went 5-0 in NFL bets on Wild Card Weekend, thanks to the 49ers (-9.5), Jags (+1.5), Dolphins (+13), Ravens (+8.5) and Cowboys (-2.5) finding their way to the betting cash window.
For the record, I like buying my own Cuban sandwiches, and keeping my NFL betting strategy real tight, but for those keeping track of my work around here, that's a perfect 5-0 against the spread to move to 31-14-1 overall on the entire NFL season.
Not too bad for a Cuban kid from Miami, and one far from a seat behind the desk at Daily Wager or personally handing a Cuban sandwich to Erin Dolan.
But, since I don't give out bets for free nothing anymore, unless you hire me for marketing copy work, sports betting industry initiatives or any other type thing, I've decided to turn this week's look at the NFL playoff betting action into a Bet 101.
That's right.
If you don't know what being an NFL 'Road Underdog' means, then this exercise, in which I'm going to use this weekend's four NFL playoff games, might be as valuable to you as Cuban sandwiches (with extra pickles and mustard) are for me.
But, stick around here even if you're a sharp ready to pounce on a line, and not a rookie NFL bettor, because you might find value in the betting content below, which you can apply to your NFL betting strategy, soon.
Let's eat, Cuban sandwiches!
Jags @ Chiefs (-8.5):
The first of four NFL playoff games this weekend, features the Jags heading to Kansas City with hopes of knocking out the AFC's No. 1 seed.
Think the Jags can pull off what would be the biggest upset of the weekend, a week after a wild comeback win vs. the Chargers?
If so, you like the 'road underdog ' Jags, who would have to beat Kansas City straight up or lose by exactly 8 points or less for you to cash your bet. Cuban sandwiches on you, if the Jags win.
(Note: Jacksonville will be playing their second game in less than a week, while KC has been idle for almost two weeks.)
Giants @ Eagles (-7.5):
Scoring a winning bet with the road underdog Giants in this spot would be like expecting one Cuban sandwich, but having an Amazon truck driver show up with 150 Cuban sandwiches.
Like the gift that keeps on giving, Saturday night's NFL playoff game is a prime spot to bet the longshot Giants, especially if you've been riding the NFC's No. 6 seed for weeks now.
The Giants, with big money prospect Daniel Jones leading the offense, are beginning to feel like 'Destiny' is calling, while the Eagles appear to be a very inflated No. 1 seed.
Bengals @ Bills (-5.5):
Want your Cuban sandwich from an old reliable in Miami, instead of taking a shot with a new shop on Calle Ocho?
You're probably sold on the home favorite Bills, for weeks America's public darlings, including here as solid chalk to beat the Bengals and advance to the AFC championship game.
Kind of like handing me a free Cuban sandwich, some advanced bettors might feel as if the NFL has been doing the Bills a favor for a while. (Check out their schedule!!)
Cowboys @ 49ers (-3.5):
If you think what the Cowboys did as road favorites vs. the Bucs was more indicative of an uber-talented team playing the (almost) perfect game, not showing off against a below-average Tampa Bay squad, than you're probably thinking about betting the Cowboys as 'Live Dogs'.
You know the team that could just pull off a straight up win, despite plenty of bettors thinking SF ?
But, be careful because this spread (line) could be reflective of just how popular the Cowboys, whether they're being bet on or not, are with the general public.
So, a Cowboys fan who might not know anything about betting on NFL games might jump at the chance of betting on Dallas at (+3.5) because it might look incredibly appealing.
But, an NFL bettor looking to bet on the 49ers might be thinking (-3.5) offers plenty of value on San Francisco as a small home favorite, because public money on Dallas has made a bet the other way just too good to pass up.
Good luck and please bet responsibly.
