Thousands of dollars bet shortly after Chiefs vs Eagles in Super Bowl LVII became official, including several high five-digit bets at select sportsbooks in Las Vegas, flipped the opening line in favor of the Eagles (-2.5), but bettors have shortened the line in recent days by backing the underdog Chiefs (+2).
This year's Super Bowl, which will be the 14th meeting between two No. 1 seeds in the big game's history, and the first since the Eagles defeated the Patriots in 2018, features the NFC's top-seeded Eagles (16-3), a pedestrian 10-9 ATS on the season, taking on the Chiefs (16-3), who limped past the Bengals as short chalk in the AFC title game, after failing to cover as home favs against the Jags in the divisional round.
Kansas City, hobbled and all, was a healthy (+450) before the season started to win Super Bowl LVII, so their trip to Arizona is little surprise. The Eagles, who punched their ticket to Super Bowl LVII after outscoring two NFC playoff opponents by a combined score of 69-14, and cashed as home favorites in back-to-back weeks, are 10-7 ATS with Jalen Hurts at starting QB this season.
Fresh off of toying with the 49ers in the NFC title game, after having their way with the Giants in the divisional round, the pre-season longshot Eagles, but for late-season stumbles vs. the Saints and Cowboys, have faced little resistance in recent weeks, while playing with the lead (for the most part), despite Hurts reportedly still nursing a shoulder injury.
It will be interesting to see if the Eagles bet on Hurts, playing in his first Super Bowl, if they fall into an early hole and need to air it out vs. the Chiefs inside State Farm Stadium?
But will Mahomes be healthy enough to help the Chiefs keep up with the Eagles? Will he need to be at 100%, considering KC has a defense capable of clipping the Eagles?
As of right now, most sports books have the Eagles (-2) as short favorites over the Chiefs to win the big game. The point total is sitting at or around (49.5). Still, these betting lines and odds will likely change, so check out your favorite sports book to stay updated on all.

🏈 Know Your 'Backup Plan': Knowing where the backdoor is on Super Bowl Sunday might help you if all the chicken wings are gone before halftime, but it will do nothing for you when it comes to betting on Chiefs vs. Eagles. Study, Study and Study right until kickoff of the big game, if you have to do so. It will not only help you stay ahead of all the Super Bowl bettors (a lot of them casual bettors who normally wouldn't be betting on NFL games) but also get you to know Chad Henne and Gardner Minshew a little closer. Please. Do. Your. Homework.
